Icknield High School is a state funded secondary academy school with 1450 students. It has an Ofsted rating of ‘good’ – February 2024. It caters for students aged between 11 and 16 in Luton, Bedfordshire. The school is located in north Luton and just off the A6.
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious and motivated English Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for English, be able to display and promote excellence in teaching and learning, and have the potential to make a real difference to the outcomes of our students.
At Icknield High School everything we do is underpinned by our overriding philosophy of ‘Raising the Achievement of All’. We believe that every student, regardless of background, should be afforded the same opportunities to be successful and that nothing should hold a child back from pursuing their talents and passions. We have consistently high expectations of our students and encourage excellence in all aspects of school life. In 2024, the school achieved a progress 8 score of +0.55 with 60% of students achieving a grade 5 and above in Maths and English. The 2024 outcomes rank the school in the top 10% in the country for GCSE outcomes.
