We are looking for a Teacher of English at Heath Lane Academy.
We are delighted to announce we have retained our 'Good' Ofsted rating.
Of particular relevance for our English department our feedback was
"The school focuses on reading and literacy so that pupils develop confidence and fluency. Pupils who need extra support get help through structured interventions. Teachers build subject-specific vocabulary into lessons across all subjects. Pupils regularly engage in reading activities during tutor time. This supports pupils to become better readers."
We offer above national pay scales. Our United Learning Pay scale range is between £35,000 - £51,000 per annum. Plus we offer a health care cash plan benefit.
Job Purpose
To carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the academy's policies under the direction of the Principal
- To be an effective professionalwho demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge, can teach and assess effectively, take responsibility for professional development and has students who achieve well
- To be a member of the English Curriculum Team and under the direction of the Director of Learning, contribute to the high standards of teaching and learning and the raising of standards of achievement.
- To make a significant contribution to the vision and direction of Heath Lane Academy, where innovative and inspirational learning for all is the core value.

To uphold the academy’s policies in respect of Safeguarding and Child Protection and ensure the safety and well-being of all learners.
