What skills and experience we're looking for

Could you inspire a love of English in a school where relationships matter and every student is known?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our welcoming school community. You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop confidence as readers, writers and speakers, alongside the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

You will be joining a successful English department with strong GCSE outcomes. In 2026, 78% of students achieved grade 4 or above in English. This is an opportunity to build on that success and help more students develop confidence and a love of the subject.

We are looking for someone who brings strong subject knowledge, thoughtful teaching and a commitment to making English accessible and challenging for all learners. You will build positive relationships, work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Visits to the school and informal conversations about the role are warmly welcomed.
