Teacher of English / Literacy Lead job summary
A vacancy for a Teacher of English/Literacy Lead has arisen within our Multi Academy Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and outstanding practitioner to join the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership, based at The Coleshill School.
The successful candidate must be able to inspire and develop students through their teaching and knowledge of the curriculum, hold a creative approach to their lesson delivery as well as being confident in strategies to enable all students to make or exceed their levels of progress. We welcome applications from teachers who are committed to developing their own pedagogy and who are keen to work in a vibrant and inspiring faculty.
The role of Literacy Lead will be to:
• train and develop English teachers on effective writing and reading instruction strategies and best practice
• direct classroom teachers and reading program leaders to discuss goals and to monitor student progress
• develop, implement and evaluate literacy programs in school
• liaise with school leaders to formulate whole school strategy and evaluate impact
This is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on the progress of vulnerable students and contribute to what is an important, whole-school priority. There is an opportunity to complete a NPQ in Literacy when appropriate.
Salary: MPS/UPS (TLR2B £5,351 for Literacy Lead)
Location: The role will be based at The Coleshill School, Coventry Rd, Coleshill, Birmingham B46 3EX
