Teacher of English Contract term: Maternity Cover (1 year Fixed term) (suitable for an ECT) Start date: January 2022 Contract type: Full Time Salary: GBP £26,948 - £42,780 per year The successful candidate will: have the vision to fully develop and support the English faculty. be an inspirational communicator and have the skills to both challenge and encourage students to achieve their potential. be committed to securing positive student outcomes at Key stage 3, 4 and 5. have the ability to think creatively and encourage student engagement. This is a brilliant opportunity to work in an English Faculty that comprises 7 specialist rooms, 1 Accelerated Reader/KS3 Library classroom and an intervention room. The outcomes at GCSE in 2021 (in English Language and Literature) were above the national average with 84%+ achieving grade 4s and 67%+ achieving grade 5s. This meant that 90% of students achieved a standard pass in English. The uptake at A level is also very good and 78% of students achieved a grade A*-B last summer.
