What skills and experience we're looking for
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspiring, ambitious, and vibrant Teacher of English to join our well established department to cover up to 12 months maternity leave. The successful applicant will be required to teach English at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level English available for a suitably qualified candidate.
Our successful candidate will join an outstanding English Department who pride themselves on their innovative approach to supporting every student to achieve their full potential. The department is well resourced with classrooms based within the dedicated languages area of the school, modern IT projection equipment to assist the delivery of your lessons.

Who we are
Thurston Community College is a large popular mixed comprehensive school. It comprises two distinct and specialist sites. Our Thurston Campus, for students from Year 7 to Year 11 is situated four miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Thurston Sixth is located in the nearby village of Beyton, offering a bespoke centre of excellence for students in Year 12 and Year 13.
