We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for a part time Teacher of English 0.6 FTE to join our team at The Portsmouth Academy from September 2025.

The successful candidate will inspire excellence by setting high expectations for both yourself and our students, empowering them to achieve their very best through your enthusiasm for teaching. As Teacher of English, you will craft engaging lessons by designing and delivering a creative and stimulating curriculum that ignites curiosity and fosters a love for the subject.

  • A Teacher of English and able to deliver to KS3 & KS4
  • Plan, implement, and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students
  • Facilitate and encourage a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • Contribute to raising standards of student progress and attainment to ensure that all achieve their very best
  • Integrate the Thinking Schools ethos into all aspects of school life to develop students as thinkers, enabling them to achieve success and be their best selves
