Are you a passionate and experienced English teacher ready to inspire students? Maltings Academy is looking for a dedicated Second in English to join our thriving English department. This is an excellent opportunity to support the Head of English in leading a team of subject specialists, ensuring every student receives an excellent education.

About the English department

Our English department is a hub of creativity and academic rigor, committed to fostering a love of language and literature in all our students. We are a well resourced department, equipped to provide a stimulating and engaging learning environment.

Your role

* Support the Head of English in leading and managing the department.
* Help teachers provide students with an excellent education.
* Lead, coach, and support teachers to be excellent practitioners.
* Support the implementation of a curriculum that is stimulating and engaging.
* Implement department-wide strategies to ensure all students enjoy and excel within the subject.

In your school

Maltings is a 11-16 academy based in Witham, Essex. Situated between the cities of Chelmsford and Colchester, the academy has 900 students on roll and benefits from a purpose-built building that was constructed in 2011. There are excellent transport links to London which enables our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides. Free car parking facilities are available on site.
