Our school is an 11-16 secondary located in the town of Hunstanton on the North Norfolk coast, famed for its sunshine and colourful striped cliffs.The school, which is part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust, has just over 600 students and is oversubscribed in Year 7 and for next the academic year. All students enjoy a full knowledge rich curriculum which is taught by a team of specialist teachers ably supported by our Senior Leadership and Cross-Trust Leaders.

Smithdon High School are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and imaginative Teacher to join our team, with a passion for encouraging students love of English throughout their learning journey.

The successful candidate will need to provide our students with an outstanding education in English, and work collaboratively with colleagues in the Department and across the school to provide a high standard of teaching and learning.

Smithdon High Schools English department boasts an experienced team of subject specialists. Our concept-based curriculum at Key Stage Three provides students with opportunities to read widely, write expressively and speak confidently. We teach Eduqas Language and AQA Literature at GCSE and several members of the team are proud to serve as examiners. Our classrooms are close to the school Library, which is integral to our mission of fostering a love of reading in all of our students.
