What skills and experience we're looking for

An extremely rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at St Wilfrid’s to join our team as a Teacher of English. This is a permanent full-time post.

We are seeking a colleague who can plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences for students and assess them accurately so that teaching is responsive and meets the needs of students. As a member of our large English team, you will be supported and challenged, so that as well as contributing to students’ success and that of the School, you are personally developed in your career.

What the school offers its staff

The English Team is made up of 13 dedicated colleagues, with a range of experience. Students study the AQA English Language GCSE course and the EdExcel English Literature GCSE course. At A Level, students can study AQA A Level English Language and OCR A Level English Literature.

St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School & Sixth-Form College is a mixed voluntary Academy for 11-18 year olds, based in North Featherstone in West Yorkshire. There are currently 1,538 students in attendance. The school opened in 1963 and has a proud history. We were judged as Good by Ofsted in November 2021; we were also judged as Good by the Diocesan Section 48 Inspection in April 2024, with 7 out of 9 areas judged as Outstanding.

We are proudly part of the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust which comprises of three Secondary Schools and twelve Primary Schools.
