Teacher of Food & Nutrition - MATERNITY COVER job summary

We are seeking a well-organised, dynamic, and highly motivated individual who is passionate about Food Technology and dedicated to delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to foster creativity, practical skill development, nutritional understanding, and confidence through a rich and engaging Food Technology curriculum that supports and challenges all learners.

You will be someone who can captivate and motivate students of all abilities, instilling in them a lasting appreciation for food, nutrition, and the importance of healthy living. In addition, you will play an active role in developing a vibrant culture of creativity, sustainability, and food awareness across the school. The ideal candidate will also be a strong team player, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues within the faculty and across the wider school community, contributing positively to curriculum development and whole-school initiatives.

A proven track record of securing positive outcomes for pupils is essential, alongside a commitment to continuous professional development and the drive to make a meaningful impact in a faith-based educational setting.

A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people is vital, as is the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students and staff alike.

The ability to teach Food Technology to GCSE level is a key requirement for this role. There may also be opportunities to contribute to extracurricular enrichment, including cooking clubs, competitions, workshops, and trips that enhance students' learning experiences beyond the classroom.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their craft in a nurturing environment with access to excellent mentoring and support, or for an experienced practitioner seeking a new challenge and the chance to broaden their skillset in a collaborative, innovative, and forward-thinking school.
