Teacher of Food Technology job summary

The Arthur Terry School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Food Technology to join our successful and supportive Design & Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher, or an ECT looking to develop their career, to join a school where students are encouraged to be creative, develop practical skills and achieve their full potential.

About the role

As a Teacher of Food Technology, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Food Technology lessons across the relevant age and ability range.
  • Inspire students to develop their creativity, practical skills and understanding of food, nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students are encouraged to participate and succeed.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing effective feedback to support achievement.
  • Contribute to the development of the Food Technology curriculum and wider Design & Technology provision.
  • Support the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and a commitment to student wellbeing.
  • About you

  • Is passionate about Food Technology and committed to achieving excellent outcomes for students.
  • Has a strong knowledge of the subject and can translate this into engaging and purposeful learning.
  • Has high expectations of all students and is committed to supporting their individual needs.

  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and is committed to their own professional development.
