We are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated and innovative Teacher of Geography to join our welcoming Humanities Team, and help drive forward further developments in the curriculum, while at the same time being a central part of empowerment of students, giving access to a breadth of inclusive educational and enrichment experiences.

The Geography department year on year achieves outstanding results, which are above the national average. GCSE Geography is a popular subject across the school with high numbers of students achieving or exceeding their target grade at GCSE and A Level. There are opportunities to complete fieldwork at various points in this journey and is an integral part of both GCSE and A Level Specifications. We follow Eduqas B at GCSE and Edexcel for A Level. The Geography department boasts access to a wide range of resources both physical and online.

We place significant emphasis on working collegiately as a staff to share our expertise and subsequently enhance the learning experience through innovation and reflection. Professional Learning at Southfield has been accredited as an Area of Excellence, receiving national acclaim. Every member of the staff is involved in a variety of weekly professional learning initiatives with a core focus on educational research. We have a key focus on wellbeing with teaching staff allocated planning off-site time and a wide-range of further initiatives and opportunities taking place across the year. We believe that our school provides something unique and the perfect environment in which both staff and students have opportunities to flourish and grow.
