Somercotes Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and highly effective Teacher of Geography to join our successful team. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner to teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a supportive and ambitious academy. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to undertake the role of Curriculum Leader for Humanities, attracting a TLR 2b allowance of £6,227.

We are looking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of who has a passion for working with students to help them achieve beyond their aspirations.

The successful candidate will have outstanding subject knowledge and be an enthusiastic and dynamic classroom practitioner enabling students to make exceptional progress in the subject. They will be able to engage and inspire pupils across the ability range in all key stages to develop a love of Geography. Staff from across the Trust regularly share outstanding practice and develop resources to ensure all students receive a world class education.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Is passionate about Geography and committed to delivering an engaging curriculum.
  • Has high expectations and a commitment to securing excellent outcomes for all students.
  • Can inspire curiosity about the world and develop students' understanding of both human and physical geography.
  • Has strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom practice.
  • For the Curriculum Leader role, has the vision, experience and drive to lead and develop Humanities provision across the academy.
