What skills and experience we're looking for
We’re looking for a passionate, committed female PE teacher to join us — someone who believes in teamwork, wellbeing, and helping every student thrive.
Why Warlingham is special
At Warlingham, PE isn’t just lessons in the hall — it’s part of a vibrant, supportive community, with facilities that most schools only dream of:
- A 25-metre heated swimming pool
- A floodlit Astroturf pitch for hockey, football and fitness
- All-weather courts and a well-equipped gymnasium/fitness suite
- Extensive fields and multiple pitches for team sports and athletics
What we’re looking for
We want someone who:
- Believes in the power of sport and physical education to support student wellbeing, confidence and growth
- Enjoys working collaboratively — coaching, sharing practice and learning from each other
- Is enthusiastic about delivering an inspiring, inclusive PE programme for our female students
What you’ll find at Warlingham
- A warm, supportive culture where staff wellbeing genuinely matters
- A team who learn together, coach one another and celebrate each other’s strengths
- The freedom to be creative and to make the most of our excellent facilities to offer a rich, varied PE curriculum
If you’re ready to join a school where staff support, student wellbeing and a love of sport are at the heart of what we do — we’d love to hear from you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries and you are very welcome to visit the school prior to application.
Under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, it is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post-holder is female. This is because the role involves supervising pupils in changing facilities, where considerations of privacy and decency apply.
Please note that applications will be considered upon receipt. Early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to close the recruitment process once a suitable candidate is appointed.

What the school offers its staff
PE Department
You will be joining a forward thinking Trust and will enjoy our many staff benefits which include: -
- Well established and supportive training and development opportunities
- Family friendly policies and wellbeing initiatives
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Lifestyle and retail discounts
- Staff sports and social events
The PE team is staffed by highly qualified teachers with a variety of sporting specialisms allowing ample opportunities for students to achieve in a wide range of activities. The department is highly successful and consistent in their results in all Key Stages.
At Key Stage three, students are exposed to a wide range of activities to allow them to improve current skill levels as well as learning new techniques in sports they may not have tried. Our curriculum is currently split into individual activities such as Gymnastics, Dance, Swimming and Athletics and team sports such as Rugby, Netball, Football, Cricket and Hockey to name a few. Across our two-week timetable students have 2 individual activity lessons and 3 games lessons.
At Key Stage 4, the PE department currently offers OCR GCSE PE and the Cambridge National in Sports Science. This provides all students in the school the opportunity to pursue a sport qualification regardless of their practical ability. Our results at KS4 have gone from strength to strength in recent years and students are consistently making positive progress across both our academic options. In addition to our option routes we also have a thriving core PE program where participation is high.
At Key Stage 5 we currently run the OCR PE A level and the BTEC Sport Extended Certificate. Again, this allows all students at Warlingham to access sport courses at L3 regardless of sporting ability. We believe this to be a core value of our PE department and something we are extremely proud of. As with the GCSE, students perform exceptionally well at A Level with many students gaining A’s or Distinctions on both courses.
Our after school extra-curricular programme is extensive and we run teams and clubs across numerous different sports including netball, football, rugby, cricket and swimming. In addition to traditional team sports we also enter a variety of competitions throughout the year such as trampolining, cross country, gymnastics and dance. At Warlingham, we believe that every student should have the opportunity to represent their school and we work hard to make that happen.
