What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed teacher to join the Humanities faculty which consists of Geography, History and RE. The History department is highly successful, well-resourced and strives to make the subject interesting and relevant for all our pupils. The faculty currently consists of a team of 10 full and part-time experienced specialist teachers, with both a Head of History and Director of Humanities in post, who is also the Trust Lead for History. At present Year 7 and 8 are taught in mixed ability groups and start their History GCSE course in Year 9, sitting the Edexcel specification in Year 11. All pupils are required to study History or Geography, with a good number opting for both. As such numbers are strong and we have multiple groups across Year 9-11.
