What skills and experience we're looking for
Plymouth High School for Girls is seeking to appoint a part time Teacher of History (maternity cover)to join our team on a fixed term basis from September 2026. This role involves the opportunity to teach motivated students and contribute to a supportive learning environment.You will deliver engaging, high‑quality History lessons that inspire curiosity, promote analytical thinking and foster a love of learning.Working within a collaborative Humanities department,you will contribute to a shared commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for all students.The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping students' wider educational experience, supporting their personal development and encouraging them to be confident, independent learners.
What you will need to succeed:
- A qualified teacher with QTS.
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured History lessons that support strong student progress.
- Be passionate about teaching and learning and transforming the life chances of our students.
- Be an aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities.
- Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools.
