We have approximately 1600 pupils and students within Years Reception to Year 13 and offer a wide range of A-Levels in our Sixth Form. Teacher of History (maternity) job summary
A well-qualified and experienced teacher is required to join our supportive and friendly team in this large and successful department. This post is temporary for the duration of the maternity leave which is likely to be two terms. Both attainment and progress are consistently above the national average in History. History is very popular at GCSE and we attract a large number of students, many of whom continue their studies at A level. Results are consistently high and a good number of our students go on to study a History degree.
We need a flexible, enthusiastic and committed professional to teach History to the full age range. The ability to teach both GCSE and A Level History is essential. The successful candidate will be a team player who is dedicated and committed to delivering high standards of teaching and learning.
We are looking for a 0.8 contract but part time and flexible working would be considered - please make this clear in your application.
