The successful candidate will plan lessons that are stimulating, ambitious and accessible to all, nurturing a lasting passion for history and enabling students of every ability to reach their full potential. You will teach History to students aged 11-16, using the resources of the subject in an effective and imaginative way, and motivating students to produce work of the highest quality. You will work within established schemes of work and contribute actively to their review and development, supported by a Curriculum Leader and a collaborative department team

We are committed to the professional growth of our staff. You will benefit from our Continuing Professional Development Framework, including opportunities to develop the use of ICT in the classroom. As a form tutor, you will play an important part in the pastoral life of the school, promoting the progress and wellbeing of your tutor group, supported by a clear ethos and behaviour management approach.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers and from those at an earlier stage of their careers. You will hold Qualified Teacher Status and have successful experience of teaching History to students aged 11-16. You will have a secure knowledge of the History curriculum and of the characteristics of high-quality teaching in the subject, and you will use data and assessment effectively to monitor progress, set targets and raise attainment.

You will be an effective communicator, well organised and able to work under pressure. You will bring energy, resilience, integrity and imagination, together with a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.

Whether you're dreaming up a debate on the causes of the First World War or helping a student grasp why the past still shapes today, we'd love you to bring your passion to our classrooms.
