What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Humanities to join a successful and well-equipped department. History, geography and religious studies are taught as discrete subjects in KS3, KS4 and KS5. This is essential in allowing us to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum. We are looking to appoint a teacher who is a specialist in either history or religious studies but would be equipped to teach both subjects. Humanities subjects are highly valued at Chenderit and popular with students.

The successful candidate will be:

  • well qualified and highly motivated;
  • an excellent classroom practitioner, able to engage, enthuse and inspire students;
  • committed to securing positive outcomes for students in all classes;
  • committed to working as part of an ambitious team and
  • either an experienced or early career teacher.

What the school offers its staff

We offer:

  • a popular, oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school which has a reputation for success;
  • students who are keen to learn and achieve outstanding results;
  • supportive staff, parents and Governing Body and
  • excellent career development opportunities with sustained professional development in an environment which recognises aspiration and rewards success.

Following our graded inspection under Section 5 of the Education Act 2005 on 27 and 28 September 2022, we were delighted and proud to have been judged good overall and outstanding for our sixth form. Ofsted states: “Leaders have high expectations for every pupil’s behaviour and attainment. Pupils and students are polite and helpful”.

Chenderit is an oversubscribed and very successful school located a few miles from Banbury and with easy access to the M40.

Early applications are encouraged as we will review applications as we receive them: applicants may be contacted before the closing date

Commitment to safeguarding
