Teacher of Humanities (History Specialism) job summary
This role will consist of mainly KS3/4 History with the opportunity of KS5 History for the right candidate. Humanities is a popular faculty within the school and all students at KS4 choose a Humanities option from History, Ancient History and Geography, with a proportion choosing both History and Geography.
History is taught across the key stages, following Edexcel for both GCSE and A level. History is currently the most popular GCSE at KS4, and we also offer Ancient History (OCR). This is an exciting time within the faculty, with the continued development of our curriculum and embedding of scholarship across KS3. We have a broad curriculum designed to engage, enthuse, and challenge our students, and you will have the opportunity to be part of the continued development of this.
The Humanities Department is an innovative, experienced, and collaborative team who strive to guide our students towards their goals. You will be joining a well-organised, supportive team of professionals. The department is well resourced, and staff are committed and hard-working. You will receive high quality support and CPD from expert colleagues who will coach and guide you through your professional development. This is an ideal opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive environment. Teachers within the faculty are sometimes required to teach a small amount of KS3 Geography and/or RE depending on staffing needs and experience, both subjects are well-resourced and supported
