Teacher of Humanities (History Specialist) job summary

Teacher of Humanities (History Specialist) Starting September 2021 Grade TMS / NQT Full Time Are you a trailblazer? Do you want to be part of something new and exciting in Coventry? Finham Park 2 is an exciting, innovative, friendly and supportive 11-19 co-educational comprehensive school based on the West side of Coventry near the border of Solihull and close to Warwick University. We opened in September 2015 with 120 students and are growing year on year until we reach our full size of 800, including 6th form, by 2021. In September 2016 we moved to our new building- a light and spacious, high quality refurbishment with superb facilities including a brand new sports hall. We are fully staffed with a positive, supportive, forward thinking staff team. We continue to be heavily oversubscribed each year. Our recent Ofsted (June 2018) described Finham Park 2 as a good school with “high aspirations for all pupils”, “a very comprehensive curriculum”, where “leaders are passionate about pupils’ development as fully rounded individuals.” and “pupils have positive attitudes to learning….and want to do well.” However, we are not complacent and our goal is not just to be an outstanding school, but a ‘world class’ one – something for the whole community to be proud of! Finham Park School (and more recently Finham Park Multi Academy Trust), the parent organisation of Finham Park 2, has been a highly regarded part of the educational landscape for over forty years. It has a long and proud history or providing the highest quality teaching and an innovative curriculum. The school has been judged as ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted over a 10 year period- a reflection of the ambition leaders have for all of our students in the multi-academy trust. Finham Park 2 reflects the ‘world class’ aspirations of Finham Park School, building on our core values of Pride, Respect and Responsibility. We believe that school is about children ‘having the time of their lives’ and provide opportunities for this to be a reality. We are supported by and proud to be part of Finham Park Multi Academy Trust. The Governors are seeking to appoint an innovative and highly motivated teacher to join a strong and enthusiastic team in the Humanities Faculty, where teachers are committed to delivering a high quality, lively and interesting curriculum to challenge and inspire all our students. Finham Park Multi Academy Trust is delighted to announce that we are recruiting a Headteacher for Finham Park 2 for September 2023. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to shape the immediate and long-term future for the school, supported by a close-knit community of other Headteachers and colleagues across the Trust.

Finham Park 2 School is a smaller than average 11-18 secondary school serving communities in a 1-2 mile radius around the school in Coventry. The school therefore has a comprehensive intake of pupils. Finham Park 2 was judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’ in June 2018, and much progress has been made since the last inspection. The Published Admissions Number (PAN) is 120 with a temporary increase to 150 pupils in 2023 and 2024. There is real potential to grow Sixth Form provision over the next few years as part of a Trust-wide strategy. It is our belief that Finham Park 2 will become a learning community to rival the best on a national and international stage in the future. The successful candidate will lead Finham Park 2 and continue the drive to become a “World Class” school where all students have the times of their lives!
