We are seeking an outstanding Teacher of French and German to join our highly successful Languages Team.

The Languages Department at Thorns is a successful, forward-looking and creative department, regularly achieving results above the national average at GCSE. German is taught across the age and ability range and having introduced French last year, both languages are now taught in Year 7, 8 and 9, after which students can then opt to continue with their language learning.

Language visits, both home and abroad, are positively encouraged and are very popular. Pupils in KS3 have the opportunity to visit local Universities and also local Business to experience the benefits of languages in the world of work and we also run a trips abroad for pupils in all key stages.

We are an enthusiastic team, who use a wide range of teaching activities and strategies to enhance the students enjoyment of learning a foreign language while developing their linguistic skills and we are looking for someone with energy and vision to contribute to our teaching, learning, achievement and enrichment.
