Teacher of Law / Social Sciences job summary

The Arthur Terry School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Teacher of Law/Social Sciences to join our dedicated and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is committed to inspiring students and fostering a love of learning across Law and Social Sciences.


Full time (part time will be considered)

Fixed term contract (maternity cover) for up to one year

Easter 2026 or September 2026 start


Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Law and Social Sciences, tailored to meet the needs of all students.

Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements and school expectations.

Promote critical thinking, ethical awareness, and an understanding of contemporary social issues.

Contribute to department development, including curriculum planning and extracurricular activities.

Support students’ academic progress, personal development, and preparation for further education or careers.

 

The successful candidate will:

Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

Have a strong background in Law, Social Sciences, or related subjects.

Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

Show enthusiasm about student engagement, curriculum development, and innovative teaching strategies.

Be able to collaborate effectively within a team and contribute positively to the school community.
