Teacher of Mathematics job summary

Queen Elizabeth's School is looking for a Teacher of Mathematics to join our fantastic {Team:} team. Could this be you?

Actual Salary £32,916 - £51,048 per annum (M1 - U3)

This job is full time but applications for part-time hours will be considered.

It is offered on a Permanent basis.

Approximate start date 1 September 2026.

An earlier start is possible by negotiation.

Are you passionate about teaching Mathematics and dedicated to inspiring and motivating students?

We are looking for an expert teacher with high levels of subject knowledge to join our friendly and supportive Mathematics team, teaching from year 9 to 13.

We are passionate about teaching for mastery and use this as our common pedagogy. Department meetings focus on mastery based CPD around the NCETM ‘five big ideas’ and we would love to welcome teachers who want to be part of these conversations about reflective and evidence-based teaching approaches.

We use the White Rose scheme of learning but our approach is best summarised as ‘resourced, not planned’. Teachers are encouraged to use their professional judgement to adapt the provided resources to meet the needs of their groups. We hope that this provides a good balance of work/life balance, teacher empowerment and high quality lesson planning.

We are a well-resourced department with every classroom having mini-whiteboards and excellent visualisers.

Ideally, we would like to appoint someone who has:

  • Experience of successfully teaching Mathematics at KS5
  • Past or ongoing engagement with Maths Hubs work or Mastery Specialist training
  • An awareness of Rosenshine’s principles of instruction
  • An awareness of some of the concepts explored in Tom Sherrington’s ‘Walkthru’ series or Doug Lemov’s ‘Teach Like a Champion’ series.
