Our Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Mathematics to join our vibrant department.
Students have discrete Mathematics lessons that are independently set. The successful candidate must be able to teach or have the desire to learn to teach across the whole age and ability range from the foundation year (year 9) through to year 13.
We offer Edexcel GCSE Maths and AQA Further Maths (for some) at KS4, this then transfers to Edexcel A level Maths and Further Maths or AQA Level 3 Certificate of Mathematics (core-maths); we have over 90% of the sixth form undertaking some form of mathematics.
The college has 230 students in year 9-11 and 30 Sixth Form students.
Classes are broadly set by ability and each teacher has their own specialist teaching space. The mathematics team is strong, and all the team have led or continue to lead departments in their own right. There is experience, confidence and a real sense of a team who love maths with a passion!

Role & Responsibility:
- Understand, meet, and promote all aspects of the teacher standards.
- Have excellent subject knowledge demonstrating a true passion and commitment to Mathematics; be a learner, continually reflecting and considering steps to make to develop and enhance practice.
Early Careers Teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/ECT) will also be considered for the role, and support will be provided.

Scarborough UTC underwent an Ofsted Inspection in November 2022 and were awarded “Good” across the board. There has been a transformational change since the previous pre-covid inspection, it is a growing college.
