Teacher of Mathematics job summary
The Misbourne is a good school with great students and ambitious, talented staff; we aim to develop world class students who have the belief in themselves that anything is possible.
The successful candidate for this position will be joining a well-led and well-resourced curriculum area comprising seven mathematics specialists who have a track record of very good results at GCSE and A-Level. You will need to be able to teach up to and including Key Stage 4. Each teacher has their own classroom, complete with desktop PC, interactive whiteboard and visualiser. We are an oversubscribed 11-18 school in the picturesque village of Great Missenden in the heart of the Chilterns. We have just over 1000 students on roll including a successful and growing Sixth Form.
You will be joining a school that:
• Offers a bespoke CPDL programme which is personalised to meet staff needs and offer recognised NPQ.
• Offers SLE opportunities and other off-site training and development for colleagues at appropriate points in their career.
• Takes an evidence-informed approach to school improvement, only implementing what we feel will make the biggest difference to the lives and outcomes of our young people, being mindful of staff workload and well-being.
• Is a key provider of initial teacher training in the local area, working with several local teaching schools and universities including the Astra Teaching School Alliance and the University of Oxford Deanery of Education.
• Is a key member of the local Maths Hub, actively participating in Hub events and working in collaboration with other Hub schools.
• Is passionate about developing and growing STEM subjects as part of our school vision; collaboration with other subject areas is a priority for us.
• Has students who are a pleasure to teach.
• Has an experienced, friendly and collaborative team.
• Puts Wellbeing at the top of their priorities.
• Provides a two week October half term.
