Teacher of Mathematics (Maternity Cover) job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well qualified and ambitious Teacher of Maths as Maternity Cover to join a vibrant and rapidly improving school. The successful applicant will be committed to raising student attainment, and experienced in teaching Mathematics across Key Stages and a range of abilities.
The Maths Department is an exciting, innovative, forward thinking area where we encourage students to have a love for learning. There have been real improvements in the quality of teaching the curriculum in mathematics over the last few years. The teaching of Maths at STCM challenges students to solve problems and learn mathematics appropriate to them. Lessons are engaging and interesting and students are given opportunities to discuss and share their ideas. Activities support students in building their own understanding of mathematics content as well as building the skills needed to solve problems in the mathematics classroom and beyond.
We run a 2 year key stage 4 for Maths, where students follow the Edexcel exam board. In Key Stage 5, A level Maths and Further Maths.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspirational Maths teacher to join a hardworking and dedicated team. The department currently consists of 8 experienced specialist teachers. They are based across 6 classrooms in one block, which is shared with ICT, so bookable computer rooms are available. All classrooms are equipped with digital technology and a walk in resources area.
