Teacher of Mathematics job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to work 2 days per week at our vibrant and supportive college for young people aged 16+ with SEND. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the preparation of our learners for adulthood by delivering accessible, meaningful, and engaging Maths education.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified teacher with a passion for Maths and experience in delivering Maths in an inclusive setting.
  • Someone with experience of working with children and/or adults with SEND, particularly those with more complex needs.
  • Confident practitioner with knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies and differentiated learning.
  • Collaborative and creative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • A teacher who thrives in a dynamic environment, supporting young people both in the classroom and in real-world contexts such as community and work experience.

In this role, you will plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of our learners, work closely with our experienced team of teaching assistants and other staff to provide a personalised and inclusive education and support learners to develop functional numeracy and problem-solving skills relevant to their everyday lives.

Salary Grade: M1- UPS3, £31,360–£49,084 + SEN Allowance (£2,679 – £5,289) FTE – Pay Award Pending

Working Hours: 12.5 hours over a 2-day week (Wednesday & Friday)
