Westside School is an Alternative Provision setting supporting young people who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education.

Our pupils have a wide range of educational, social and emotional needs. This includes pupils with SEND and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), pupils who have experienced disruption to their education, pupils with gaps in learning, low attendance and pupils who may require additional support to successfully engage with education.

Our aim is not simply to provide pupils with qualifications. We want our young people to develop the confidence, resilience, independence and skills they need to successfully progress into further education, training and employment.

Relationships are at the heart of our work.

We are looking for a Maths teacher who understands that progress begins with getting pupils into the classroom, building trust, establishing clear expectations and delivering lessons in which pupils can experience success.

Commitment to safeguarding

Westside School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share its commitment.

We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
