Would you like to be part of a new school?
Bohunt School Wokingham (BSW) is looking to appoint highly motivated, dynamic and innovative individuals with the desire to be part of a brand new school; to help shape, open and ensure the success of our new-build secondary school. The school opened in September 2016 with Year 7, growing to a roll of 1200 students, aged 11-16, in September 2020, with a final phase addition of a sixth form of up to 300 to follow.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play an active part of the development and direction of the school as it grows, with rich opportunities for professional and career development both within the school and across the wider Academy Trust. Interest in the new school has been high. We are heavily oversubscribed and as a new and growing school, this represents a unique opportunity for a teacher who is looking to take full advantage of the opportunities available and develop themselves professionally. Applicants who feel they can bring additional expertise are invited to make contact to discuss opportunities.
This is a rare and exciting challenge for an ambitious and imaginative candidate to join us in our stunning new school. Beginning with year 7 and growing year on year, there has been the freedom to design and evolve the curriculum without the restraints of what is already there and the opportunity to create a unique, innovative and rich educational climate, supported by the infrastructure of a hugely successful Trust.
You will need to demonstrate a commitment to sustaining academic excellence, helping every child succeed and the potential to be an excellent classroom practitioner. As well as being able to work as part of a team, roll up your sleeves and inspire others to excel.
The South of England based Bohunt Educational Trust has evolved from Bohunt School in Hampshire, which is rated Outstanding in every category by Ofsted and the Times Educational Supplement School of the Year 2014. BET's educational philosophy is encapsulated by three short verbs: Enjoy, Respect and Achieve.
Potential candidates are advised to apply as early as possible or make informal enquiries for more information to: Mrs Selina Parker at sparker@bohuntwokingham.com

Bohunt School Wokingham opened its doors to Year 7 pupils in 2016. Having grown substantially since then, we are now heavily oversubscribed, with a school roll of 1200 students aged 11-16. With the exciting announcement of our expansion to include a sixth form and additional spaces in all year groups, we will soon see more students through to 18.
Our ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’ underpins our vision to give all students an outstanding education and develop skills in the classroom and beyond. These core values help our students flourish throughout their school career, and on into later life. Reflective of the success achieved in its first three years, Ofsted recognised that the “overall educational experience for many pupils at the school is ‘life-changing’.”
Our new site has been designed and built with education at the forefront and includes specialist teaching spaces and a whole school one to one iPad provision, as well a wide range of sports and extra-curricular provision. We are leaders in outdoor education with an outdoor classroom, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Big Expeditions to wilderness locations, alongside a variety of other trips at home and abroad.
We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with nine schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility. We may be separated geographically, however, all BET schools are student centred, sharing an uncompromising belief in high achievement and unconditional positive expectations, a real sense of community and a dynamic, innovative approach to education.
