The Governors of King Ecgbert School are seeking to appoint a 1FTE Teacher of Mathematics in this outstanding, system leading school at the heart of the Mercia Learning Trust.

King Ecgbert School is an oversubscribed, thriving school, and we are proud to have the highest performing Mathematics Department in Sheffield and one of the strongest in the country. In 2019 we achieved a progress 8 figure of +1.01 putting the department in the top 50 nationally.

King Ecgbert School is part of a successful academy trust (Mercia Learning Trust); this allows opportunities to work with other successful departments and leading professionals to constantly improve staff through specific and focused CPD. Several members of staff work closely with the local Maths Hub as SLEs and LLMEs. The department also leads the AMSP post 16 maths support programme for South Yorkshire.

King Ecgbert School is seeking an outstanding, 1FTE Teacher of Mathematics commencing September 2021, fixed term for one year. Applications for part time working may be considered.
The school is exceptionally strong- rated outstanding by Ofsted, has academic results that are consistently ‘well above average’. This is a truly comprehensive school with 20% of students disadvantaged, 30% EAL and 40% from BAME communities but also serving a highly affluent suburb.
