About the Role

We do not teach GCSE Mathematics. Collaboration with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and tailored support is essential. This role also involves contributing to the wider college community through enrichment activities and academic mentoring.

What we are looking for

Sir John Deane's seeks to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to contribute to the work of this thriving department.

The Mathematics Department is the largest in the College with outstanding outcomes in all three subjects offered: A level Mathematics, A level Further Mathematics and A level Statistics.

The person appointed must be willing to:

  • bring impactful and evidence-informed approaches to their teaching;
  • work as a member of a team, sharing ideas and resources;
  • develop relationships with students based upon equality, respect, joy and high aspirations

We are proud that the Sir John Deane’s name has enhanced the career of many colleagues and, together with the professional development we provide, has allowed them to progress into middle and senior management positions. As part of the Sir John Brunner Foundation Multi-Academy Trust, over time, the College will be able to provide professional opportunities in good and outstanding local high schools to help you further develop your career.

In the first instance this is a one-year fixed term contract, although the College is currently seeking to permanently expand the Mathematics Department next academic year due a strong growth of students studying Mathematics.
