This is an exciting time to be joining Sir John Deane's Sixth Form College and the Sir John Brunner Foundation Multi Academy Trust, which collectively educates over 4,300 children, and employs over 450 professionals. About the Role
As a second in department at our sixth form college, you will play a key role in supporting the head of department in driving success in both A level Psychology and A level Media Studies. The role is not specific to a particular A level. The role involves working with the Psychology and Media studies team to nurture, develop and promote excellence, drive student outcomes and contribute fully to the wider opportunities in college.

What we are looking for
Sir John Deane's seeks to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to contribute to the work of this thriving department and support the head of department.
A Level experience is not an essential requirement; we are seeking to appoint an individual with a strong academic background who loves to teach and who has a passion for contributing the success of the wider team
The person appointed must be willing to:
- bring impactful and evidence-informed approaches to their teaching and others in the department
- work with the head of department in both areas of Psychology and Media Studies
- help with the coaching, quality assurance and development of team members, as well as supporting the head of department in working with students and parents to ensure continuing excellence in student outcomes and enrichment.
