What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you someone who believes that learning a language is about more than just conjugating verbs? Do you have the passion to convince a room of teenagers that the subjunctive mood is actually quite cool?

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and dedicated Teachers of MFL to join our vibrant department. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for a supportive start or an experienced practitioner seeking a new challenge, we want to hear from you.

Your primary focus will be delivering high-quality lessons in French across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire Curiosity: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that go beyond the textbook, bringing the culture and customs of the target language to life.
  • Drive Achievement: Use data-driven insights to track student progress and implement interventions that ensure every student reaches their potential.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the MFL team to develop innovative schemes of work and share best practices.
  • Beyond the Classroom:Contribute to extra-curricular activities, whether it’s a lunchtime "Ciné-club," a language exchange, or international trips.

Who You Are

We aren’t just looking for a linguist; we’re looking for a communicator. You should be:

  • Qualified: You hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree.
  • Fluent: High proficiency in French is essential.
  • Resilient: You have a "can-do" attitude and the ability to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools to enhance language acquisition (from Quizlet to interactive platforms).

What We Offer

  • A supportive and collegial working environment where your voice is heard.
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) tailored to your career goals.
  • Well-behaved, motivated students who are eager to explore the world.

What the school offers its staff

Northern Education Trust offers:

  • The opportunity to work and progress across the family of schools, should you wish in the future;
  • The chance to apply for leadership roles in the Deeps structure taking on a whole school leadership project;
  • The support and expertise of Director of Subjects.
  • A full and detailed programme of support and development for all;
  • A further comprehensive programme of professional development, including leadership, provided through the NET Staff College.
