Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (French & German) MPR/UPR

Required from October 2026

Full time or part time

Required from October 2026, an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of MFL to teach either French or German to KS3&4. The ability to teach the other language to KS3 is desirable. Full or part time applications will be considered.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and forward–looking individual who can inspire students and contribute fully to a very active and successful team. You will be hard-working, well-qualified and responsible for planning and delivering high quality lessons and achieving excellent results for our students. At HTC students not only learn to speak the language but also develop an understanding of the country’s culture.

We are a very supportive department, and our vision can be resumed in three words “fun, progress, engagement”. This post is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has the drive, energy, and ability to make a difference and would suit an ECT or experienced MFL Teacher with a passion for this subject. We comprehensively support all new staff and have tailored programs for ECT’s, staff returning to the profession and those seeking a career change. The College is committed to professional development and will seek, where possible, to support staff in their ambitions to further themselves.

HTC is committed to providing the highest quality of learning for all students in every lesson. We have an OFSTED rating of outstanding and good (OFSTED Nov 2024). HTC is a ‘college where students’ academic achievements and their personal development is extremely strong’. Ofsted commented on the personalised education and innovative curriculum, the calm atmosphere and well-behaved students who are highly respectful and have positive attitudes to learning. Staff training, support and welfare were seen to be exceptional. ‘Parents are overwhelmingly positive and appreciate the care and support their children receive’.

The College is always developing its practice and we welcome applications from qualified teachers who want to be part of a consistently improving College.
