What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an exceptional practitioner to join us at Stowupland High School and teach Modern Foreign Languages to students aged 11-18. We currently offer French and German, with a view to exploring further MFL language options.
Our warm, welcoming and friendly students have already bought into the significantly heightened expectations of behaviour, and our cohesive staff team have a palpable desire to build on this momentum and create an outstanding learning environment. We need committed, creative and energetic colleagues to join us. If you think the role might be for you, then we would welcome your application.
What the school offers its staff
The school is at a very exciting stage of development. Following the appointment of a new Principal in 2024, we are rapidly transforming the culture and ethos of this rural school. We are creating a school founded on genuine mutual respect. Our desire is for every student to reach the highest standards of academic achievement and personal responsibility, and to enjoy a fully rounded education which is an exceptional preparation for life.
Further information about the job
The MFL department ethos is to share criteria and standards with pupils, so that they are aware of where they are and what they need to do to build on progress. The language classes are immersive, involving the 4 skills along with new MFL requirements for the 2024 reforms, fostering participation and developing linguistic confidence, founded on pedagogy to encourage reflection and improvement.
The relatively recently, but highly experienced HoD, is keen to grow the Languages Team to offer further extra-curricular languages, excursions, projects and initiatives.
We welcome applications from ECT candidates.
