Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Music to start September 2020 (or April 2020) to teach music up to and including KS5, who will inspire students to develop their musical skills and understanding to the full. The ability to teach keyboard/piano, lead a choir and to accompany singers on the piano is essential. The ability to teach guitar, ukulele and bass at a basic level would be beneficial.

DfE recognised Qualified Teacher Status

Essential skills and experience

Evidence of recent and relevant professional development
Successful teaching experience of music KS3/4/5 (including teaching practice)
Contributing to the development of the department’s curriculum and resources
Ability to teach outstanding lessons
Strong classroom management skills
Effective communication skills
Ability to use innovative and interactive teaching methods
Uses ICT as an innovative tool for learning
Contribute to the improvement and implementation of assessment for learning within the department
Demonstrate enthusiasm for and enjoyment of teaching
A passion for helping young people to develop their understanding and experiences to reach their full potential
Well organised with good time management skills
Meets tight deadlines
Attention to detail
High degree of personal integrity
Excellent attendance record
A thorough understanding of a teacher’s role in safeguarding young people
