What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Music to join our Expressive Arts department to teach Music across all ability groups in KS3 and KS4.
This is a permanent post, suitable for an experienced teacher or a highly motivated Early Career Teacher wishing to join a department of creative specialists who ensure a high standard of teaching, learning and achievement. We are looking for candidates with excellent subject knowledge and the desire to share their passion for music and the arts with our creative pupils.
The Expressive Arts Department work collaboratively to offer the very best creative and performance experiences for our pupils. Collaboration with Music and Drama was most recently seen in an outstanding Year 10 performance at the Shakespeare in Schools festival at the Barnfield Theatre Exeter.
Chulmleigh College aims to encourage as many pupils as possible to participate in music, with opportunities for all pupils to attend lunch time music activities and perform at regular concerts. Moreover, 20% of pupils are engaged with either music or singing.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and committed to extra-curricular activities including lunch clubs and arranging out of school concerts and cultural experiences. Pupils enjoy the benefits of well-equipped music classrooms and practice rooms which are used by visiting teachers to deliver a full range of instrumental and singing lessons.
