What skills and experience we're looking for

We are excited to invite applications for a well-qualified and dynamic individual to join our successful and friendly Music department. The position is part-time (two days a week) commencing in January 2027.

The Music Department consists of a supportive team of four teachers in the all through school, plus a strong peripatetic team. Music is a key strength of the school and integral to both school life and the vision to provide a variety of opportunities for all.

Pupils benefit from purpose-built music facilities, including an auditorium, recital room, and music wing with a recording studio, practice cells and three designated classrooms (one with Mac suite). A high quality group instrumental scheme led by specialist peripatetic teachers operates from Year 3 upwards, with all pupils having free lessons for at least a term as part of the curriculum. There are a number of instrumental and choir groups on offer and opportunities for performance.

What the school offers its staff

We are friendly supportive school, where our smaller class sizes mean all adults and pupils are known to each other. Combined with exceptional pastoral care, this means relationships are strong with a positive impact on good behaviour.

We offer membership of the Teachers Pension Scheme and free school lunches. The school keeps shorter term times - 34 weeks per year.

Visits are most welcome - we would be proud to show you our school !
