Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Music for Maternity Cover at The Spires College. This is an exciting opportunity to join a flourishing department and contribute to its sustained growth.

Essential educational requirements

A good honours degree in Music or a related subject.
A teaching qualification.

Essential qualifications

QTS.
Qualification in an additional or related subject area.

Essential skills and experience

An up to date knowledge of the emerging issues in education and record of appropriate CPD.
A good practitioner in the classroom and keen to continue learning.
Capable of planning and delivering innovative lessons and Schemes of Learning.
Able to inspire high levels of student performance.
Work under pressure and prioritise according to need.
Good communication skills.
Use data effectively.
Good behaviour management skills.
The ability to think creatively to solve problems, pioneering new approaches as well as understanding which prior methods have been effective.
Have a sense of humour and good interpersonal skills.
Have high levels of energy and enthusiasm.
Ambitious and keen to prove yourself.
Committed, highly competent, reflective and resilient individual.
Experience of teaching Music through Key Stages 3 to 5.
Experience of using data to inform actions.
Experience of the role and responsibilities of a form tutor.
