Teacher of Music job summary
Plympton Academy seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated Teacher of Music to join our highly successful Performing Arts Department. The candidate needs to have a drive for Music educating and will have excellent musicianship skills with a love of working with students. An understanding or experience with BTEC/RSL curriculum at KS4 and KS5 would be an advantage.
The music department has undergone considerable change during the course of the last 2 years. The department strives for excellence no matter ability with the ethos that everyone can be involved in Music. The redesigning of the curriculum through all key stages and extra curricular programme has seen a significant uptake in both extra curricular groups and examination pathways.
We have a newly refurbished recording studio and linked live lounge area and students are able to book out this space as well as practise rooms to rehearse and record. Students are able to learn instruments within the curriculum following a heavily practical Scheme of Work.
You will be joining a department with an excellent long term track record of academic success, with opportunities to be fully immersed in the enrichment area of this subject. We have a new £2m Performing Arts block so we can offer state of the art facilities to support you in inspiring the young people in our care.
The successful candidate will have the chance to join an already thriving department and contribute towards building further exciting opportunities in Music for the students at Plympton Academy.
