What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of PE to join Durham Academy from September 2026. Wewish to appoint a committed and highly effective teacher to teach across our key stages. You should beeducated to degree level and hold qualified teacher status (QTS) as well as having experience of teaching toKS3 and KS4. The successful applicant is expected to facilitate and encourage a learning experience whichprovides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential as well as contribute to raisingstandards of student attainment.

You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of teaching, learning and personalisation strategiesand be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of monitoring and evaluating whilst improving thestandard of achievement for all students. You will be confident in your abilities to effectively teach Sportsacross Key Stages 3 & 4 and through a range of extra-curricular experiences. You will be adept in creating asupportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for all students.
