What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will have;

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Passion for a specialist subject.
  • Relevant teaching experience in KS3 and KS4. KS5 is also preferred but not essential.

The Priory Learning Trust (Somerset Business Award winner for Employer of the Year) are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Girls' PE Teacher to join our vibrant PE department.You will be responsible for delivering high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 fostering a love for physical activity and personal development among our students.

This position is to work at The King Alfred School - An Academy, rated 'Good' by Ofsted November 2022. A school at the heart of the community, where we believe it is our role to develop the next generation into successful citizens.

As part of this role, you will;

  • Identify clear learning and teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed.
  • Set high expectations for students’ behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.
  • Identify the needs of individuals and groups within the class, taking note of individual education plans and the requirements of the Code of Practice, tailoring the teaching to take account of their identified needs.
  • Set tasks, including homework, which challenge students and ensure a high level of interest.
