What skills and experience we're looking for
Collingwood College has a flourishing Physical Education department. The Department endeavours to ensure that students find Physical Education a stimulating, enjoyable and highly relevant subject.
The role is Part time (64%FTE). NQTs will also be considered. We also welcome applications from those returning to work after a career break.
The Department results are improving year on year, with 22% achieving Grades 7-9 and 83% Grades 9-4 at GCSE last year. The popularity of Physical Education is growing within the school with numbers taking a PE course increasing year on year. In the Sixth Form we offer A Level PE and Btec Sport and in Key Stage 4 we offer GCSE PE, Sport Science and Sport Studies .
A particular strength of the department is the inclusive nature of the curriculum and the wide range of extra curricular activities which are on offer to all of our students.
There are currently 10 members of the PE Department, teaching from KS3 to A Level, with a mix of full-time, part-time and staff with additional responsibilities within the school.
