Teacher of PE job summary
Reepham High School and College is an 11-18 comprehensive school set in the picturesque Norfolk countryside, just 12 miles north of Norwich. The school has approximately 950 students, including around 200 in the sixth form, known as Reepham College. We serve a wide rural catchment area, as well as the town of Reepham itself.
Our students are kind, hardworking, and a pleasure to teach. Their prior attainment is in line with the national average, and they are highly motivated to succeed. Our sixth form provision is a particular strength, with A-level outcomes consistently placing us in the top 25% of post-16 providers nationally.
Our whole-school pedagogy is informed by Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction and underpinned by a knowledge-rich curriculum. We place strong emphasis on consistent, whole-school routines, which help to create a calm and orderly environment where both students and staff can thrive. Positive relationships between staff and students and among colleagues are central to our ethos, alongside high expectations for both conduct and achievement.
We are looking to appoint an outstanding, or potentially outstanding, PE teacher. This role could suit newly qualified and recently qualified teachers, as well as more experienced teachers.
We require an energetic, committed and well organised team player who has the ability to offer a range of sports. We expect the successful candidate to have excellent subject knowledge and to be happy teaching all aspects of PE, including examination PE at GCSE.
The successful candidate will:
be an excellent all round practitioner
demonstrate high standards and expectations in all they do
be able to contribute in all areas of PE
be enthusiastic, resourceful and passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of pupil achievement, personal development and well-being
be committed to extra-curricular provision
demonstrate the ability to develop a natural positive rapport with our pupils
If successful, you will be joining an energetic and dedicated team that is committed to doing their very best for our pupils.
If you require more information or for an informal discussion, please contact Joe Easton, Head of PE, by email jeaston@reephamhigh.org.uk
Please be aware that Reepham High School and College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. References will be sought and the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
