Teacher of Performing Arts (Music Specialist) job summary

Bridlington School is seeking a suitably qualified teacher to join the Performing Arts department. You will be a Music specialist with an interest in all things performance.

The Role

You will have the opportunity to teach Performing Arts to KS3, 4 and 5, specialising in Music. The Performing Arts team work together to give the students exposure to live performances on a regular basis (Remembrance Service, Christmas Carol service, annual school production), you will have the opportunity to support this and will be able to bring any additional ideas you would like to explore.

The school utilises the Peri-Music service to enable students to access music lessons in school with financial support offered to disadvantaged students. Extra-curricular clubs can also be run, providing the students with opportunities they might not otherwise have.

The Team

The Performing Arts department occupy their own area of the school which includes 4 large ‘studios’ and a work room, alongside separate music rooms furnished with a variety of instruments. A relatively small team, the Head of Department brings a wealth of experience to the department.

You will have an innovative outlook and a commitment to the role and the experiences this subject area can bring to our students.

be outgoing, flexible and adaptable to cope with demands of the role

have a commitment to professional development

have experience of working with children

be able to manage a whole classroom environment

be a form tutor and support the academic and pastoral development of your tutor group

have a passion for extra-curricular/enrichment activities
