Wellsway School is looking for a well-qualified teacher of physical education who, under the guidance of the Director of PE and PA, will teach physical education across the age and ability range. As a teacher in our school, you will be responsible for ensuring that every student enjoys an excellent experience in your lessons and will work very closely with the rest of the team in planning and delivering engaging sequences of lessons.
If you are a highly effective teacher, able to form excellent educational relationships with students and are committed to supporting our well established and popular extra-curricular programme, we would love to hear from you. The ability to teach Physical Education to GCSE level is essential.
We provide a highly enriching and successful extra-curricular programme, with significant success in Netball. This includes; multiple teams competing across all year groups in regular fixtures, regular success as both the B&NES Tournaments and West of England Finals, entry for both the under 14 and under 16 teams into the National Schools Netball Competition and demonstrate strong performances in the Avon round with success at Regional finals. The under 13 and 15 teams have progressed in the Sisters in Sport tournament and have won the County round of the South West State Schools tournament and progressed to the Regional Round. This role offers an exciting prospect to contribute to the continued development of girls’ PE, with a particular emphasis on maintaining and extending the success of our netball programme.

For this post, prior to appointment Futura Learning Partnership will apply for a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring check, a Children’s Barred list check, two satisfactory references, satisfactory pre-employment health screening and for Teachers, a Prohibition Check in relation to the children’s workforce. In some settings a Declaration will be required in order to meet our obligations under the ‘Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006’.
