What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an innovative, ambitious and enthusiastic teacher to teach in our Religious Education and Humanities departments. It will be roughly equal weighting across the two disciplines so all specialisms are considered. RE and Humanities are both incredibly popular at St John Henry Newman Catholic School. All students sit GCSE RE and in Sixth Form we offer General RE and an A-level in Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics. In Humanities, both History and Geography remain popular as GCSE choices and we offer A-levels in both subjects. The successful candidate will have the ability to work across both faculties (at varying levels depending on specialism) and promote critical thinking, cultural awareness and analytical skills.
Our school has a distinctive caring and Christian ethos with the emphasis on the individual and supporting pupils in fulfilling their full potential.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach to GCSE and have the potential to teach A Level in their specialism.
What the school offers its staff
St John Henry Newman Catholic School supports career development and progression with excellent resources in a brand-new school building. We are therefore interested in talking to both experienced teachers looking for a new challenge as well as early career teachers at the beginning of their career.
