The Friary School is committed to securing the highest possible standards, expectations and achievements for each student and this is encapsulated in our mission statement: “High achievement through challenge and support for every learner.” We are very much a school which is passionate about giving students a wide range of curriculum opportunities because this breadth enables every student to shine and enjoy success. Of course, high achievement can come in the exam hall; but equally, it can emerge on the stage, on the sports fields, in a debating chamber, or through the care and support of those around us. No matter the strengths, the weaknesses, the ability, or the context, we are a school that strives for our students to be successful. Within this vision, we instil key characteristics that we believe are crucially important for everyone to apply in our school and in wider life. These traits are known at The Friary Ethic: F is for… Friendship R is for… Responsibility I is for… Independence A is for… Aspiration R is for… Resilience Y is for… You These ethics are embedded in our daily practice; whether it be visually, via assemblies, via tutor times, via our Character Awards, or via our daily interactions and dealings. More widely, we are supported in our vision and values by The Greywood Multi-Schools Trust which aligns with our goals and provides support to enable us to reach them. We are a school that seeks to be the best we can be, we are secure in the route we take to achieve this, and we are passionate about joining all of our stakeholders together to maintain this ambition as a reality.
